The one-year term is to allow justified adjustments to contract time due to unforeseen circumstances in which the authorized work could not have been completed due to extreme or otherwise abnormal inclement weather patterns. The one-year service contract further allows the provision to improve the alleys, over and above those scheduled to be done at the start of the fiscal year. The specific time to complete the alley repair and improvement work, as designated in the Notice to Proceed, shall be strictly adhered to. Failure to do so will result in assessment of liquidated damages in accordance with this contract.
