The project location is within Monument Park that is located at the corner of NW 4th Ave. and NW 3rd St. in the City of Aledo. The project consists of constructing approximately 2714 SQ FT of PCC Sidewalk along with Aggregate Base, 18' of Concrete Curb, 178 SQ FT of Sidewalk Removal, 18' of Curb Removal, and other collateral work. All questions shall be directed to Justin Blaser at jblaser@aledoil.gov and received no later than Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at 4:00 PM. Bids shall be properly and completely executed on the Bid forms, and must be accompanied by a satisfactory Bid Security and other documents as may be described in the Contract Specifications. A certified or cashier's check payable to the City of Aledo or a Bid bond in an amount equal to five (5) percent of the Bid amount must accompany each Bid. Bid security may be retained by the City of Aledo for a period of not-to-exceed sixty (60) days for all Bidders and not-to-exceed ninety (90) days for the Bidder given tentative award of Contract. The successful Bidder will be required to provide a Contract Bond in the amount of one hundred (100) percent of the Contract amount. Bidders must be experienced in the construction of the type of facilities to be built under this Contract for which a Bid is submitted. Minimum wage rates to be paid under this Contract have been established in accordance with the requirements of the Illinois Department of Labor. Compliance with 30 ILCS 570/ Employment of Illinois Workers on Public Works Act and 820 ILCS 130/Illinois Prevailing Wage Act will be required under this Contract. The City of Aledo reserves the right to reject any and all Bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding, should the City of Aledo deem it to be in the public interest to do so. Unless Bids are rejected for good cause, the Contract will be awarded to the lowest responsive, responsible Bidder.
