The proposed contract requires sealed tenders for the following work: Approximately 3.81 km of new road construction on the Deception Branch 11 (Dorey Creek FSR), off of the Chapman FSR at 72km, in the Houston Operating Area of the Nadina Forest District. Culverts and geotextile materials are located at the Morice River Storage Yard approximately 300m in on the East Peacock FSR, off of 7 km on the Morice River FSR, west of Houston. It will be the contractor’s responsibility to transport the culverts/geotextiles to the work site and unload once at the site. Loading of the materials at the storage site will be provided by BCTS. BCTS require 3 days’ notice to arrange loading. This project will include the following works: 7723-11: Construct 3810 metres of new road (including clearing and removal of timber, stripping, subgrade construction and pullouts, culvert installation, grading and packing, There is a Deep fill section with a 1200 mm x 30 metre culvert at the start of the new road. There is a high potential for the need to blast rock, if required, BCTS will co-ordinate those activities if necessary. From 0+493 to 0+650 there will be upwards of 2650m3 to waste. At stn 2+445 there will be upwards of 970m3 to waste. Need to locate suitable spots along the new grade to dispose of material or can find a way to dispose of on the old existing road near station 0+430 At Stn 2+997 there will be upwards of 780m3 needed to borrow for sufficient cover of two culverts at 2+918 and 2+945 At Stn 3+072 there will be upwards of 550m3 needed to borrow for sufficient cover of one culvert at 3+042 At Stn 3+357 there will be upwards of 780m3 needed to borrow for sufficient cover of two culverts at 3+298 and 3+338 From Station 0+000-0+755 will have a ditch depth of 0.3 m (V-ditch) From Station 0+755 to end of road will have a ditch depth of 0.7 m deep and 0.6 m wide The successful bidder will be required to enter into a road use agreement with Canfor for the Chapman FSR, North Road(Michelle Bay FSR) and Perow FSR Documents can be obtained from www.bcbid.gov.bc.ca.
