Site work for a water / sewer project in Tofino, British Columbia. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
The District of Tofino is seeking a qualified organization to replace the west float located at the first street dock in Tofino BC. The replacement float is to be of modern timber construction fabricated to the existing design. The old float is to be removed and disposed of properly. All work is to be completed in a timely manner following all applicable environmental and work safe requirements. 1. Fabrication of a new timber float to the same design as existing west float. a. The float is to have air-filled billets. b. The float is to use modern materials where applicable. Eg. Fenders & mesh grating. 2. Installation of the new timber float. a. The current piles that secure the float are to remain in place. b. The current gangway is to be re-used. 3. Removal of old float, including moving/barging to land. 4. Disposal of old float, including disassembly and trucking to landfill. 5. Provisional Items: a. Improved transition between the existing gangway and new float. b. Installation of guard rails along the remaining perimeter of the wharf head. To the same design as existing. c. Replacement and installation of Safety ladders every 30 meters along perimeter of the wharf.
