Renovation of a multi-residential development in Hampton, Virginia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a multi-residential development.
The General Contractor shall provide all necessary materials, supervision, labor, tools, and equipment to perform all work as provided in this Invitation for Bid. Contractor shall be responsible for securing and paying for any and all permits required by the City of Hampton and other local, State and Federal authorities prior to start of work. This shall include but is not limited to all required bonds and insurance as well as all right-of-way permits and land disturbing permits. Such bonds are in addition to any bid bond, performance or payment bond required as part of the bid. The Hampton Redevelopment and Housing Authority (HRHA) is seeking sealed bids from qualified and experienced Virginia Licensed Class A Contractors for the Langley Village Bathroom Refurbishment Project and consists of the following: The project is located at HRHA's elderly housing community, Langley Village Apartments, located in Hampton, VA. The project includes but is not limited to the following (refer to the Project Manual for a complete description): Demolition of vanities, lights, sinks, medicine cabinets, towel bars, and other bathroom fixtures. New work includes new painted wall finishes, providing and installing new vanities, vanity lights, sinks, fixtures, towel bars, mirrors, medicine cabinets and toilet accessories. The scope includes providing Delta faucets in cultured marble sinks with built-in splash on prefabricated vanity cabinetry with dove-tail joints. New sink stops and risers are to be provided. HRHA will be accepting Sealed Bids at the Construction Office located at 811 West Pembroke, Hampton, VA 23669 Contractors submitting a bid must possess a valid Virginia Class A contractor's license. A certified check, payable to HRHA, or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the bidder and acceptable sureties in an amount equal to five percent of the bid MUST be submitted with each bid that exceeds $100,000. This is a Section 3 project. All clarifications regarding the specification and/or scope of work must be in writing a minimum of 10 days prior to the bid opening and may be faxed to (757) 727-1768, Attn. Karen Taylor, or emailed to ktaylor@hamptonrha.com. HRHA shall not be responsible for missed transmissions. The Contractor(s) shall mobilize and commence work on site within ten (10) days after receiving the Notice to Proceed. From the start of mobilization, the Contractor(s) shall complete the work within 300 calendar days. Therefore, the successful bidder will be required to submit Contractor Schedule of Values and construction schedules no later than fourteen (14) days after issuance of the notice to proceed. All bids must be accompanied by a negotiable bid guarantee which shall not be less than five percent (5%) The successful bidder shall provide both a Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds, each in the sum of the contract amount, with the HRHA as oblige. Please note that if the apparent low bidder cannot provide the Performance Bond and Payment Bond within a reasonable amount of time and Notice of Award cannot be made, they may run the risk of forfeiting their bond. HRHA at its sole discretion will determine what is considered a reasonable amount of time. In accordance with the Invitation for Bid it is hereby understood and agreed by the Contractor that time is of the essence in delivery of supplies, completion of the project, services, materials or equipment of the character and quality specified in the bid document. In the event these specified supplies, services, materials or equipment are not delivered by the dates specified, there will be deducted, not as penalty but as liquidated damages, the sum of $300 dollars
