Quotes will be received via email to: Linda Melnick lmelnick@usbr.gov Destination Period of Performance: 09/01/2022 to 10/31/2022 SCOPE The Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation) is seeking a contract for installation of two Reclamation -furnished prefabricated metal staircases and landings on the west bank of the North Platte River downstream of the Glendo Powerplant. 2. BACKGROUND Reclamation personnel perform river flow measurements utilizing the river gage cableway downstream of Glendo Dam. The stairs and landings will improve personnel access to the river gage cableway on the uphill side and to the river on the downhill side for river flow measurement. Figures 1-5 show a map and site details. 3. TASKS The contractor shall perform the following tasks: a. Relocate Reclamation-furnished stairs and landings to installation site i. Access is through locked gate and requires Reclamation personnel to open gate. ii. Relocate the prefabricated stairs, landings, and appurtenances from near the Glendo Powerplant approximately 0.9 miles downstream to the site of installation. iii. Contractor provides all labor, equipment, hardware, and materials to transport the stairs and landings, to assemble them, and to install them onsite. b. Install upper stairs and landing i. The upper landing is to be located on the west side of the access road against/into the hillside such that the landing and stairs do not block the access road. ii. The floor of the landing should be approximately 5 ft below the cable. iii. The stairs should be installed centered in the opening in the handrail of the landing. This will leave a gap between the stair handrails and the landing handrails. iv. Sonotube (or equal) with concrete at least 12 inches in diameter and 2-3 ft deep should be used to secure the legs. v. If the platform height is such that the base of one or more legs will be at or above ground surface, anchor bolts should be fastened into the concrete to bolt the base of the legs to the concrete. vi. The platform legs should be cut as necessary to conform to the slope of the hillside, with the cut legs going into sonotube 2-3 ft deep into the ground and have concrete filling the sonotube around them to secure the structure. PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE Installation should be completed between September 1, 2022 and October 31, 2022. During this period of time the flow in the river may vary considerably (from several thousand cubic feet per second [cfs] down to 25 cfs). Irrigation deliveries from Glendo Dam typically conclude around mid-September, but it is currently unknown when deliveries will end in 2022. River flows below Glendo Dam are expected to be around 25 cubic ft per second after September 30, 2022.
