Site work, paving, outdoor lighting and new construction of a mixed-use development in Bowie, Maryland. Conceptual plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; for paving for a bridge / tunnel; road / highway; road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; for outdoor lighting for a sidewalk / parking lot; and for the construction of a bridge / tunnel.

The Tanglewood property consists of approximately 135 acres, bounded by the railroad right-of-way, Zug Road, a stream, and the Northridge subdivision. This site has expansive existing natural trails throughout. The existing trail system requires significant maintenance to be considered safe. The Tanglewood property represents a significant resource to the City of Bowie in terms of potential public use. The current state of the property, without a clearly defined plan and function, has led to uses that are not compatible with park usage or nearby residential areas. Examples of past inappropriate uses include; hunting, discharging of weapons, use of motorized dirt bikes, and illegal dumping including vehicles. Concerted effort will need to be made to create synergy between desired uses and security enhancements. In FY2023, the Tanglewood Park Master Plan (1990) will be updated, focusing on the preservation of the Tanglewood area as a natural park resource while soliciting input from the Huntington Community.
