The Plainfield Park District invites proposals from qualified Engineering Firms to formally present their Letter of interest, Qualifications and Project Approach for the preparation of design and construction the Old Renwick Road Trail Extension per the following description and exhibits. The project has already received ITEP funding and has just completed the Phase 1 process, which is now under review. As of May 9, 2024, per owner an engineer has been awarded. There is no general contractor yet, bidding is TBD, as it's still under review. Construction timeline is TBD. Project Description The Plainfield Park District is soliciting a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for Professional Services to complete Phase II Engineering and Phase III/Construction Engineering on a successful IDOT Grant (Illinois Transportation Enhancement Program) for Construction of a roughly 1/3- mile trail segment of the DuPage River Greenway Trail. The segment will complete a missing link from an existing trail dead end on the west side of the River Point Estates Subdivision to the public sidewalk on the north side of Renwick Road. The trail will be installed entirely on Park District property or Village right of way. The trail will be a 10'-wide at-grade asphalt trail which will be located partially within the regulatory floodplain and floodway. The segment includes two (2) at-grade roadway crossings. The area adjacent to the north section of the segment will be excavated as compensatory storage and replanted with native species. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
