Site work and new construction of a mixed-use development in Newburyport, Massachusetts. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a fitness / recreation center; and theater / auditorium.
This project is included in the City of Newburyport's fiscal years 2024-2028 Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). As of November 3, 2023, further details regarding design and construction have not been identified. A firm timeline for construction has not been established; however, funding is allotted to fiscal year 2024. A detailed scope has not yet been released. The gym and auditorium roofs are the only sections that have not been replaced during recent projects. They are currently in good condition, but are close to 25 years old, which is nearing the end of their life expectancy. This project is included in order to be forward t hinking so that the city can be prepared for this expense when the time comes to replace these roofs. Cost estimate is based on $16/sq. ft. It also provides allowances for General Conditions, Overhead & Profit, Bonding Fees, De sign Fees, Escalation and a Contingency. It also provides an allowance to remove and reinstall the solar panels on the roof. This project would lik ely qualify for reimbursement under the MSBA's accelerated repair program. *Project information has been obtained through a public capital improvement plan (CIP). A CIP is a financial schedule for short- and long-range projects which is updated regularly. Information listed in the CIP often evolves based on funding availability and the project details, including timeline and value, are subject to change.
