Demolition, site work and new construction of a civil project in Crosby, Texas. Completed plans call for the demolition of a water / sewer project; for the construction of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.

In general, this work consists of: 1. Contractor shall acquire all permits and provide copies to LAN as a prerequisite to starting the work. 2. Prior to construction, the Contractor shall secure the site from public access at all time. If the existing fence is removed for construction activities, the Contractor shall install temporary fencing to maintain site security. Safety precautions for the general public shall be in place at all time and at a level of quality as determined by Engineer and/or Owner. 3. Street cleaning along South Diamondhead Boulevard Drive shall be done throughout the project as requested by the Engineer or Owner and at a level of quality as determined by the Engineer or Owner. 4. Installing structural supports for pipe crossing, including truss system, drilled shafts and bent caps. Contractor constructing drill shafts at the interior piers of the aerial crossing should take care in the placement of construction equipment to reduce potential loads near the crest of the slope. Temporary shoring such as (but not limited to) sheet piles may be needed to support equipment loads. 5. Installing 12-inch force main including any necessary coatings, a flexible expansion joint and pipe guards at Gum Gully pipe crossing. 6. Installing 12-inch PVC and steel force main along South Diamondhead Boulevard by trenchless construction methods. 7. Installing 16-inch steel water line including a flexible expansion joint and pipe guards at Gum Gully pipe crossing. 8. Installing new 16-inch gate valves and boxes on the new 16-inch water line along South Diamondhead Boulevard. 9. Removing and replacing fire hydrants. Allow the operator for the District to salvage fire hydrants if desired. 10. Installing pre-cast concrete sanitary sewer manholes, including corrosion resistant and water-tight manholes where indicated. 11. Installing 12-inch PVC from existing manhole to within lift station site. 12. Installing 24-inch PVC from existing manhole to within lift station site. 13. Installation of 27-inch influent sanitary sewer, for all depths, for all pipe materials, including connection to existing sanitary sewer manhole, connection to proposed wet well structure, all fittings, and sealing material used. 14. Tying existing and proposed PVC force main and sanitary sewer lines into proposed and existing sanitary sewer manholes, respectively. 15. Cutting, draining, removing, capping, grouting, and abandoning existing PVC, steel, and ABS sanitary sewer lines. Abandoning existing sanitary sewer manholes. Clearing and grubbing of lift station site. Removing and hauling cleared material. 18. Construction of a new lift station site, including grading the site to the proposed elevations shown on the plans. 19. Construction of a new wet well structure, 12-inch thick concrete valve pad, and the vent pipe assembly, as shown on the plans. 20. Prior to demolition, the Contractor shall allow the operator to remove all salvageable items within lift station site. 21. Installation of Flygt N-Impeller lift station pumps, piping and all related appurtenances. Appurtenances, include but are not limited to: pump quick lift assemblies, stainless steel guide rails, on-site piping, valves and fittings, pipe supports, access hatches, and grating. 22. Surface preparation and coating with an Engineer approved epoxy coating system of all piping, pumps, miscellaneous metals, and interior concrete surfaces of the wet well. 23. Installing a galvanized steel platform structure with control cabinet, equipment rack and guard railing. 24. Provide and install automatic transfer switch, generator feeders, well feeders, service equipment modifications and all required appurtenances as shown on plans and as described in specifications. 25. Provide and install standby natural gas generator, natural gas lines and fuel system, sound attenuating enclosure, and all required appurtenances as shown on plans and as described in specifications. 26. Installation and testing of the electrical systems and controls for all devices and equipment as shown on the plans. 27. Obtaining electrical, natural gas and telephone services for the lift station site. Exact dollar amounts shall be reimbursed to the Contractor upon submittal of invoice from service providers. 28. Installation of 1-inch water service line, including backflow preventer, hose bib assembly, fittings and all other appurtenances. Water service line tap and water meter installation to be completed by District's Operator. 29. Installation of 6-inch thick reinforced concrete pavement and sidewalk, including preparation and installation of 6-inch thick stabilized subgrade. A joint submittal plan will need to be provided as a submittal. 30. Installation of an 8-foot tall PVC coated chain link fence, including two 8-foot wide swing gates and one 3-foot wide pedestrian gate, as shown on the plans. 31. Installation of trench safety system for all depths of construction. 32. Turf establishment for the lift station site and any areas disturbed during construction. 33. Installation and maintenance of a dewatering system. 34. Storm water pollution prevention plan to be installed, maintained and removed. 35. Site restoration. It is the responsibility of the contractor bidding the project to ensure the accuracy of the reproduction of all bid documents and construction drawings. The responsibility includes, but is not limited to, proper scaling, paper width and length, etc. Failure to do so may result in errors in the unit bid quantities and/or bid amounts.
