Question Deadline 09/14/2022 at 5:00 PM CT It is the intent and purpose of these contract documents to provide for improvements to the existing waste water system. Contractor to perform all work as indicated. This project will be funded by twdb. This contract shall provide for the necessary labor, equipment, tools, materials, and all other related construction for the proposed project. Each proposal shall be accompanied by a bid guarantee of not less than 5% of total bid amount, as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract and execute the required bonds within ten days after notice of award. At the option of the bidder, the guarantee may be one of the following: a. Cashiers check or certified check upon a national or state bank, payable to Beechwood Water Supply Corporation. b. Negotiable U.S. Government bonds (at par value). c. Bid bond from a surety company listed in the latest issue of U.S. Treasury Circular 570, such bid bond being within the maximum amount specified for such company in that publication. Award of this contract will be made on the basis of the lowest responsive responsible bid. The right is reserved as the interest of the Owner may require, to reject any or all bids, and to waive any informality in bids received. The successful bidder must furnish Performance Bond and Payment Bond on the forms provided in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the total contract price from a Surety or other Sureties acceptable to the Owner. Since state approval is required for award of contract, the Owner reserves the right to award the contract at any time within sixty (60) days after bid opening. Award of this contract is contingent upon funds being released by the Texas Water Development Board. Base Bid 1. Remove existing solids accumulated in the existing concrete WWTP basins by wet haul, including all labor, materials, hauling, and disposal costs. 2. Modify existing WWTP Tanks for proposed Flow Equalization Storage, including all piping, airlift pump, diffusers, labor and materials. 3. Remove and replace existing bar screen structure, including all fittings, piping, labor and materials. 4. Furnish and install new onsite package lift station, including all labor and materials, pump basin, pumps, piping, valves, fittings, excavation, backfill, compaction, electrical and connections to existing piping. 5. Furnish all site work including all site grading, seeding, and site cleanup. Additive Alternates 6. Furnish and Install handrails on the existing WWTP Units. 7. Remove existing solids accumulated in the existing off-site lift station basins (6 locations) by wet haul, including all labor, materials, hauling, and disposal costs. 8. Remove and replace existing 10 x 10 concrete slab for lift station D. 9. Remove and replace existing concrete covering annular space between boxes and replace with fiberglass grating. Special Considerations 1. Contractor to coordinate with WSC prior to making connections to existing sewer lines, and coordinate at least 72 hours in advance for any shutdowns required for tie-ins. Contractor to coordinate with WSC for actuation of all existing waterline valves. 2. Underground utilities exist near or within the project area. During construction the Contractor shall take the necessary precautions to avoid damaging the existing utilities within the limits of the project site 3. The Contractor shall pay close attention to the project schedule to ensure that the work is completed in a timely manner without delays. 4. Contractor shall restore the construction sites to their original condition or better prior to the project completion and Owners acceptance. 5. Contractor to comply with all environmental requirements as included in the plans and specifications. MBE: Construction: 12.94%; Supplies: 9.68%; Services: 10.84%; Goods/Equipment: 7.12% WBE: Construction: 8.72%; Supplies: 9.34%; Services: 5.72%; Goods/Equipment: 5.39%
