CityHousing Hamilton is upgrading portions of the electrical system at 226 Rebecca St. in Hamilton, Ontario. The property is an occupied 11-storey, residential apartment building with 199 units, and emergency power is currently provided by a generator connected to a single automatic transfer switch. As part of the electrical upgrades, the boilers, domestic cold water booster pumps, and associated equipment at the building is expected to be connected to the existing generator. The Scope of Work for the base "Cost of Work" will include but is not limited to the following: - Replacement of the existing automatic transfer switch with a new automatic transfer switch - Supply and installation of a new, additional automatic transfer switch - Replacement of the existing fire pump controller with a new controller - Obtaining the necessary permits (including but not limited to City of Hamilton Building Permit and Electrical Safety Authority Permit) and studies (including but not limited to Short-Circuit, Coordination, and Arc Flash studies), coordinating the associated inspections, and paying all associated fees; - Reducing specified electrical shutdowns to a maximum of three separate occasions and for no longer than four consecutive hours between the hours of 11pm - 6am on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, excluding holidays; and - Completing all other Work identified in the Drawings and Specifications, except for the Provisional Items noted below. The Scope of Work for the "Provisional Items" will include the following: - Replacement of the existing Bus Duct Plug-In Units - Supply and installation of a three-way manual transfer switch The Successful Bidder will be required to coordinate with Alectra Utilities to provide isolation, inspection, and meter re-tagging services. Alectra Utilities' fees to provide such services shall be paid for through the Contract's Cash Allowance.
