**As of September 20, 2022, project was awarded to Blast it Clean but awarded amount is not available.** The City of Roeland Park is seeking proposals for the painting and caulking of the Roeland Park Aquatic Center Swimming Pool. Swimming Pool Painting, Sand Blasting, Caulking and Repair Below is a listing of general specifications and requirements for this project. Work shall include all materials and labor for the main pool and wading pool and includes the following: strip and replace all caulking for pool joints and concrete seams of pool floor, walls, and gutters; patchwork & repairs as indicated; blasting and power washing as indicated; and repainting of pool basin, gutters, steps and striping. CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBILITIES Contractor is responsible for securing the construction area until it is turned over to the City. This includes preventing vandalism to concrete before it is set. If vandalism occurs it will be the responsibility of the Contractor to replace damaged/new concrete work, safety surfacing, and or play equipment. Contractor is responsible for preventing damage to existing site. Any damage, including unacceptable turf damage, is to be repaired by contractor. Contractor is responsible for preventing damage to existing sidewalks and turf areas. Any damage (cracked sidewalks, ruts in turf areas) is to be repaired by contractor. Contractor is responsible for the disposal of all materials. Site cleanup will be completed at the end of each workday. All material brought to the site for construction purposes shall be removed upon project completion, Contractor must guarantee all materials and labor for at least one full year after completion of project. Contractor will provide to the City and Manufacturer's warranty information that is applicable to this project. The successful company will be required to provide a labor and material payment bond and performance bond. This is a tax-exempt project. A Sales Tax Exemption Certificate from the State of Kansas will be provided. Working Days. After receiving the contract, the contractor shall have 30 calendar days to start construction of the project. Once started, he shall be required to work continuously to complete the project. Project shall be completed by October 31st , 2022. A $200 day per day penalty shall be fined for everyday deemed beyond the allowed calendar days on this project. Weather related days will not be assessed against the calendar days subject to city approval. Construction Methods. The contractor shall use City of Roeland Park approved construction methods as shown in the specifications. Any deviation to method or type of construction shall be approved by the City prior to beginning of work. Construction and Inspection. The Park and Recreation Dept will be required to inspect portions of the construction for this project. The contractor shall contact the City to arrange for such inspections as necessary and/or required prior to concrete pours and installation of concrete pours. Any appropriate permits for such construction and inspection shall be the responsibility of the Contractor.
