The project involves the complete lighting retrofit of Preska Residence hall. This residence hall includes 162 suite style student rooms, 100 renovated standard style student rooms, lounges, common areas, shared kitchens, staff apartments, lobby, office areas, maintenance and mechanical rooms. As part of the planning process we expect recommendations on tube replacement, retrofit kits, and new fixtures. This is to be based on each fixture type, including pro, cons, and associated costs. The project will be can be started with common spaces and hallways while the building is occupied if the contractor elects to. The resident rooms can be started after move out on May 10, 2023. The entire project must be completed by July 21, 2023. The Owner intends to use the Design/Bid/Build delivery method for this project. The meeting will be held in Preska Entry Lounge. Limited metered and vendor parking is available behind Carkoski Commons, off of Val Imm Drive. Additional paid parking is available in Visitor Pay Lot 4 located at the intersection of Ellis Avenue and South Road. The Method of Contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
