Renovation of a municipal facility in Charlotte, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a municipal facility.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: The construction shall be a single contract with two projects separated into two volumes: 1) Compliance Renovations and 2) ADA Renovations. A summary of each project follows. COMPLIANCE RENOVATIONS The work of the project is defined by the Contract Documents and consists of the following: A. The renovation work, including new rooftop mechanical unit installation and associated roofing work, shall be as indicated on the drawings and specifications, is located at the Charlotte Mecklenburg Animal Care and Control facility. B. The work shall include both demolition and new construction. The work includes, but not limited to, all architectural, structural, all interior work, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical construction. C. Alternate work includes signage, removing and replacing the dog kennelling systems. D. The work is to be completed in phases as indicated on the drawings. Each phase shall be completed in total including punch list completion of the punch list and final acceptance of the work with the exception of the mechanical, electrical and plumbing work and associated architectural work. This is necessary for the operation movement of the dogs in the limited facility operations. E. All clean up, etc. at the completion of each phase. F. Completion of the project completion per contract and Division 1 requirements. ALTERNATE BID - COMPLIANCE RENOVATIONS Provide Alternate Bid #1 for the signage as indicated on the drawings and specifications. Provide Alternate Bid #2 for the stainless steel kennelling system for the length of kennelling, inside and outside runs, for Room 150 Dog Adoption. Provide Alternate Bid #3 for the stainless-steel kennelling system for the length of kennelling, inside and outside runs, for room 151 Dog Strays. Provide Alternate Bid #4 for the stainless-steel kennelling system for the length of kennelling, insideand outside runs, for Room 152. Provide Alternate Bid #5 for a new 4 ton Packaged RTU as shown on the drawings and specifications. PROJECT LOCATION: Charlotte-Mecklenburg Animal Care & Control (CMACC) Facility - 8315 Byrum Drive Charlotte, NC 28217 The estimated cost of this Project is as follows: Compliance Renovations: $2,651,049.00 (without alternates) and $4,354,911.00 (with alternates) ADA Renovations: $1,011,065.00 SBE Goal = 8.00% MBE Goal = 3.00%
