Work by Contractor: Repair of Roadway, Driveway, Sidewalk and Other Surfaces from Water Main Breaks 1) Sawcut and excavate temporary pavement patch to pavement subgrade. 2) Prepare and compact granular base 3) Restore pavement, curbs, sidewalk, etc. according standard specifications 4) Remove forms, backfill, seed and straw as necessary Public Sidewalk Repair Program 1) Remove existing sidewalk slabs 2) Remove any roots by pruning, leaving a clean cut 3) Prepare a base 2" thick of 1" minus , crushed stone 4) Place new concrete sidewalk 5) Remove forms, backfill, seed and straw The City of Kirkwood will award to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. South of Kirkwood, as noted in the attached map, is the territory south of Adams Road and Sugar Creek Road. Historic information, available to the City, shows this area has contained approximately 52% of the City's Water Department's repair projects and 54% of the City's street and sidewalk repair projects over the last year. The initial term of the contract shall be firm fixed pricing for 12 months. Upon expiration of the initial contract period, the City shall have the option to renew, one (1) term at a time, pending approval of funding, for up to four (4) additional 12 month terms through written mutual agreement between the City and Contractor. Acceptance of annual contract renewal periods is at the discretion of the City. Upon the City's issuance of a notice to proceed, the Contractor shall have no more than 30 calendar days in which to complete the entire project list provided, including all restoration. Contractor will not be provided any additional projects until all projects are completed. If Contractor is unable to complete the project within the 30 calendar days as provided in this section, including any time provided for inclement weather as defined in the terms and conditions, the amount of liquidated damages to be recovered shall be One Hundred Dollars ($100) per calendar day, the Contractor will be considered in default of the contract resulting in a 30 calendar day cure period in which Contractor shall complete the remaining work from the project list, and the Contractor will not receive additional work until their project list is complete. If Contractor fails to complete all work provided in the contract list within 60 calendar days or if the contractor exceeds the 30 calendar days provided in this section for a project list, including any time provided for inclement weather as defined in the terms and conditions, three (3) times within one (1) contract term, the City will have immediate grounds to terminate the contract.
