UCLA requests a written response to this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) to select an Executive Architect for the proposed UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center Rooms 2124-2128 Renovation (UCLA Project #944669.01) located at 757 Westwood Plaza, Los Angeles, CA 90095. UCLA Health proposes to select an architect to plan a renovation of approximately 2,200 SF on the second floor of Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. The renovation will accommodate the stroke imaging and treatment center. The renovation will consist of remodeling existing procedure rooms and required support spaces, including control and equipment rooms, and replacement/installation of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Interventional Radiology (IR) equipment. Responses to this RFQ should demonstrate familiarity and experience in the design, planning, and construction of the replacement of existing or adding new radiology equipment and renovation of required supporting spaces, knowledge of the California Code of Regulations (Title 24), Department of Public Health (Title 22), Department of Health Care Access and Information (HCAI 1) requirements and the disabled access requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The specific personnel proposed for assignment to this project must demonstrate experience in these areas. Mechanical systems analysis of the existing building infrastructure shall be included in the pre-design study phase to ensure the projected design loads can be supported. The construction cost for the project has not yet been determined and will depend upon an agreed phasing plan. The work may be executed as separate projects. The entire project is anticipated to be in the range of $4 to $5 million, depending on the agreed-upon scope of work. The project is subject to review and approval by the UC Board of Regents or their delegated authority. This RFQ is for full design services comprising architectural basic services, including schematic design, design development, interiors package, construction documents, cost estimate, LEED, assistance during bid/award phase, construction administration, record documents, and project closeout for RRUMC Rooms 2124-2128 Renovation project. The design shall comply with the University of California Policy on Sustainable Practices to achieve a minimum USGBC LEEDTM "Silver" certification.
