All proposals must be accompanied by a cashier's check, certified check, or a bid bond, made payable to the Borough of Paramus in the amount of ten (10%) percent of the amount of the bid. The envelope must also indicate A Bid Proposal. The successful bidder will be required to comply with all provisions of prevailing wage rates as determined by the New Jersey Department of Labor. No bidder shall be allowed to withdraw his bid for a period of sixty (60) days after the proposals, or bids are opened. The Mayor & Council reserve the right to waive any informalities or defect in any bid, to reject any and all bids, or to accept such bids that, in the discretion of the Council, are in the best interest of the Borough. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27 regarding equal employment opportunity, as amended. Bidders are also required to comply with P.L. 2004 c.57, Business Registration Act. This certificate must accompany your bids. SCOPE OF WORK:
The purpose of the contract is to retain a Contractor, for a minimum of one (1) year, to
reset or replace concrete sidewalks and driveway aprons damaged by tree roots.
It is a requirement that the Contractor dedicate a minimum of one (1) work crew on a
continuous basis until all of the known locations of concrete slab replacements are complete. The locations of the sidewalk and driveway apron replacements will be provided by the Superintendent of the Paramus Shade Tree and Parks Commission and marked out at each location.
Once the marked-out sidewalk and driveway apron sections are removed (by the
Contractor), the Contractor will cut and shave the tree root system to a point below the proposed concrete slab depth under the supervision ofthe Paramus Shade Tree and Parks
