Project Location: Fire Station 20: 10928 Pacific Highway SW, Lakewood, Wa. 98499 Fire Station 21: 5000 Steilacoom Blvd. SW, Lakewood, Wa. 98499 Access to project documents is intended for use by bidders (general contractors/prime bidders, subcontractors and suppliers), agency personnel and agency's consultants, as well as for personal, noncommercial, use by the public. "Harvesting" (downloading, copying, and transmitting ) of any project information and/or project documents for purposes of reselling and/or redistributing information by any other party is not allowed by BXWA. It is a requirement of this project that the Contractor, their agents and any subcontractor and their agents have the ability to work legally within the United States and the State of Washington and be otherwise responsible pursuant to RCW 39.04.350 (1). This is a Public Works Project subject to the rate of prevailing wages as established by the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries. West Pierce Fire & Rescue hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contracts entered into pursuant to this advertisement, minority business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, creed, sex or natural origin in consideration for an award. The two apparent low bidders shall be required to submit additional, Part B, Supplemental Information for review as outlined in the bidding documents within 48 hours (or two working days) from the time and date of the Bid proposal. The intent will be to award the contract as soon as possible, to the qualified bidder submitting the lowest responsive and responsible bid. West Pierce Fire & Rescue reserves the right to reject any and all bids or waive any immaterial irregularities in the bidding. West Pierce Fire and Rescue shall make the award to the bidder deemed as to be in the best interest of West Pierce Fire and Rescue and shall be the sole judge thereof. Work includes but is not limited to interior renovations and upgrades to the existing Fire Station 20 and Fire Station 21 restroom and shower areas. It is the intent of the Owner to have Station 21 be completed in a first phase with Construction to begin no later than October 17 and overall substantial completion shall be achieved within sixty (60) days of notice to proceed. Final Completion to occur within thirty (30) days after substantial completion. Once substantial completion is approved for Station 21, the second phase would start with Station 20 construction. Overall substantial completion shall be achieved within sixty (60) days of notice to proceed. Final Completion to occur within thirty (30) days after substantial completion. The base bid will be the total of both stations as one package. The bid form requires the contractor to break out construction bid for phase one Station 21 and phase two station 20. It is the intent of the owner to award this contract to a single contractor for both fire stations. Bid security in the amount of 5% of the bid sum shall accompany each bid. Security shall be made payable to West Pierce Fire & Rescue either by cashier's check or bid bond issued by a surety company licensed to conduct business in Washington State.
