As of June 15, 2023, an engineer has been selected for the project. Bidding and construction is estimated to take place in the city's 2025-2026 fiscal year. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: In December 2015, Pinal County in cooperation with the City of Maricopa and the City of Casa Grande published the Final Design Concept Report for Pinal County's East-West Corridor Study. The East-West Corridor is a high efficiency, high capacity transportation corridor that connects the City of Maricopa beginning at Arizona State Route 347 (SR 347) and terminates in the City of Casa Grande at Interstate 10 (I-10). Within the City of Maricopa, the East-West Corridor will be named Sonoran Desert Parkway. Phase One of Sonoran Desert Parkway from SR 347 to Porter Road is currently under construction and is scheduled to be completed by July 2023. This project will design and construct Phase Two of Sonoran Desert Parkway from Porter Road to approximately the Fugua Road alignment where it connects to the Maricopa Casa Grande Highway (approximately 2.4-miles). The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
