The Thornhurst Township Board of Supervisors is accepting sealed bids for snowplowing and anti-skid for the 20220-2023 winter season. The Township will consider multiple year proposals. The areas to be plowed are: all of Pine Grove Road and Pine lane including two school bus turnarounds, the Firehouse parking lot and fuel tank areas, and the Township Building parking lot. Also, the doors of the Township Building should be cleared of snow by shovel, if necessary. All state approved anti-skid and salt mixture will be provided by the contractor. The Township requests at least 25 tons of salt on hand prior to the start of the winter season. Plowing will be done as needed and before 6:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. for the school buses. In major storms, the snow may accumulate up to 4" before plowing unless requested by the Supervisors or Roadmaster. An additional charge of $50/hour for an extra truck may be charged with accumulations of 12" or more. A loader may be used with approval of the majority of the Supervisors at a rate of no more than $75/hour. Proof of $1 million liability insurance and workers compensation insurance, if applicable, is required with the bid. The Township reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
