The selected contractor shall remove and replace the concrete platform and stairs with an aluminum platform and aluminum stairs. There is an original drawing of the staircase and platform and additional blueprints, which show the dimensions of the workspace and examples of stairs, platforms, and handrails to be installed. Those blueprints are identified in this solicitation as attachments named Appendices, Rock Creek Pump Station - Stair Removal and Replacement and Stair and Handrails. The locations are secured by staff of the City of Independence, Missouri. Contractors and staff will need to work in close coordination with one another related to access privileges. The City of Independence, Missouri requests the submission of proposals from qualified contractors to provide for the replacement of an outdoor staircase for the Rock Creek Pump Station for the Rock Creek Treatment Plant at 9600 Norledge, Independence, Missouri 64053, for the City of Independence, Missouri's Water Pollution Control Department. The City of Independence, Missouri Municipal Services Department has a Pump Station located at 400 N Kentucky Rd., which performs a preliminary screening process of breaking down stormwater wastes before the wastes reach the Rock Creek Treatment Plant at 9600 Norledge. There is a staircase that is on the outside of this station that needs replacement due to age and weather conditions, which have eroded the integrity of the staircase. The Rock Creek Pump Station also has 18 issues with concrete around the handrails that need repaired. The Sugar Creek Pump Station at 10600 Hayward, Sugar Creek, MO has 7 issues with concrete handrails that need to be repaired. Proposals shall include work the new stairs, handrails, and concrete repairs.
