**As of October 14,2022, project was awarded to South State Inc, awarded amount is $2,764,324.20.** 21st Street and 25th Street Bridges Over Avalon Canal Scour / Erosion and Substructure Repairs INTENT OF CONTRACT THE FOLLOWING IS ADDED: The work to be performed under this contract consists ofthe subsurface repairs to the 2 Is1 Street and 25"' Street Bridges in Avalon. Specifically, the deteriorarting timber abutments and wing walls will be rehabilitated thru the construction of a cast in place concrete wall covering that will be placed composite with the existing timber walls and noted on the plans as "Bulkhead Repair". The concrete wall covering will be formed by the use oftemporary toe -in sheeting (that remains in place) and RFP or plastic form sheeting that will provide the form for the initial hernie concrete seal and upper foam concrete seal. The contractor will be responsible for designing, developing and constructing the temporary sheeting and initial seal so that it stabilizes the wall cavity for the subsequent foam concrete placement. The bulkhead repair will also include tie -ins to the adjacement neighboring bulkheads. The contractor will be responsible for designing, developing and constructing the bulkhead repair tie-ins for the project. In addition, other work includes the extension of existing storwater pipes thru the new bulkhead repair, the installation ofbridge fencing, the repair of damaged bridge fencing anchorages, and the placement of fill behind the existing bulkhead that may have migrated thru the deteriorated sheeting over the years. The repair of 4 existing concrete retaining wall extensions is also part ofthe contract. Ifthe existing bulkhead condition allows for soil migration that will jeopardize the roadway, the contractor will perform temporary repairs to the sheeting as directed under the scope of an allowance in the contract for emergency repairs.
