Site work for a road / highway in Pearland, Texas. Conceptual plans call for site work for a road / highway.

As of December 20, 2022, a design engineer has not been selected but is anticipated to be selected at the end of January 2023. *The previous solicitation is listed below for reference One of the main strategies outlined in the Pearland Prosperity Strategic Plan is to optimize the development potential of Pearland's principal commercial corridors. As one of the three major corridors addressed in the Strategic Plan, the Broadway (FM 518) Corridor has the capacity to support additional businesses and the potential to be a vibrant and visually appealing space that stimulates investment from private business. By improving infrastructure and aesthetics and increasing development within the targeted area, the image and sense of place, market appeal, and overall value of the area can increase dramatically. The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is currently at 30% engineering design for the first phase of Broadway's widening between SH 288 and Cullen Pkwy (FM 865). Multiple properties throughout the corridor are impacted by the acquisition of additional right-of-way. A streetscape design will be needed to 1) accompany TxDOT's reconstruction of the corridor to help mitigate the project's impacts to the surrounding streetscape and 2) to build upon the Strategic Plan's "big picture" actions. This RSQ was prepared by PEDC to solicit responses from qualified landscape architecture firms capable of developing an overall commercial streetscape design for the Broadway Corridor's publicly managed right-ofway. This comprehensive design will be conducted in tandem with providing technical assistance to individual private property owners directly impacted by TxDOT's widening project along FM 518 that is in line with City planning goals and requirements. TxDOT's project location is within the limits of State Highway 288 to the west and, ultimately, to State Highway 35 to the east (Corridor). The purpose of the streetscape design is to mitigate planned Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) road reconstruction and widening impacts on adjacent properties' parking lot screenings and landscape buffers and to aesthetically position the project area for future high-quality development. The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
