The City of Tea, SD, requests formal bids for the James Avenue Drainage Project in Tea, SD. Pre-Bid Meeting Info: There will not be any pre-bid meeting for this project In accordance with South Dakota Codified Law 5-18B-1, one copy of the Plans and Specification shall be furnished, without charge, to each Contractor resident in South Dakota who intends, in good faith, to bid upon the project. This project consists of roadway surfacing removals, installation of storm sewer utilities (reinforced concrete pipe and structures), general earthwork associated with grading, concrete lined drainage swale, aggregate roadway base, concrete and asphalt surfacing, and temporary and permanent erosion control. Each Bid for this project must be accompanied by a guaranty in the amount of 10% of the total amount bid or in lieu thereof a certified check, cashiers check, or bank draft in the amount of 5 percent of the amount of the bid. Satisfactory forms of proposal guaranties are certified checks, cashiers check, or bank draft issued upon a national or state bank, and bid bonds issued in accordance with South Dakota Law and made payable to the City of Tea. The Bid Proposal Guarantee will be retained by the OWNER as liquidated damages if the successful bidder refuses or fails to enter into an Agreement within twenty (20) days after Notice of Award or fails at time of executing the contract to furnish a Contract Performance Bond guaranteeing the faithful performance of the work. The Bidder to whom the contract is awarded will be required to furnish a Contract Performance Bond to the OWNER in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract award. The Contract Performance Bond will remain in effect for not less than one year after the date of the City of Teas letter of Final Acceptance. A Certificate of Insurance will be required from the successful bidder prior to beginning work. Bids may not be withdrawn after the time fixed for opening them.
