Alternate No. 1 will be to provide the Long Reach Excavator with 36 wide grouser pads. The Fifth Ward Gravity Drainage District No. 5 is exempt from paying state and local taxes and the Bid price shall specifically exclude any and all taxes. Any bid not meeting this requirement will be rejected. Each bid shall be either hand delivered by the bidder or his agent, or such bid shall be sent by United States Postal Service registered or certified mail with a return receipt requested, or shall be submitted electronically with Central Auction House (CAH). Bids shall not be accepted or taken, including receiving any hand delivered bids, on days which are recognized as holidays by the United States Postal Service. All bids must reach the office of Leonard Chauvin P.E., P. L.S., Inc. before 10:00 a.m. on the day of the bid opening. Failure of the U.S. Mail to deliver the bids timely shall not be considered due cause for the scheduled time of the bid opening to be extended. The deadline for submitting questions relating to the project is 10:00 a.m., September 26, 2022. The Fifth Ward Gravity Drainage District No. 5 reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive any informality or to accept any bid that may serve its best interest. Bids shall be good and remain valid for a period of 45 calendar days after bid opening.
