Demolition, site work, asbestos abatement and new construction of a mixed-use development in Newport, Rhode Island. Completed plans call for the demolition of a multi-residential development; for the construction of a multi-residential development; for site work for a multi-residential development; and for asbestos abatement for a multi-residential development.
The "Park Holm Phase IV" The project consists of bulk demolition of 21 total wood framed building housing 74 units. There are sixteen (16) two-story 4-unit buildings, four (4) one-story 2-unit buildings, and one (1) two -story 2-unit building. Demolition includes asbestos abatement. Construction of new wood frame, slab on grade construction of fifty-one (51) total apartments within 6 buildings. Buildings consist of a mixture of townhouse style and stacked multi-family style. The project also includes brownfield remediation due to low levels of arsenic in the soil. During the period between issuance of this RFP and the proposed due date, no oral interpretation of the RFP's requirements will be given to any prospective bidder. Requests for interpretation (and other questions) must be made via e-mail by September 20, 2022 to the following HACN representative: Donna Bonnenfant Executive Office Manager The Housing Authority of the City of Newport Email: dbonnenfant@npthousing.org Subject: Park Holm Phase IV - Questions A performance and payment bond in a penal sum of 100 percent of the contract price is required of the successful bidder. Construction work is anticipated to start on February 1, 2022 and substantially completed no later than February 28, 2024.
