City of Citronelle Lebaron Avenue Sixth Street Drainage Improvements Ninety (90) working days are allowed for the construction of the project. A performance bond in the form and terms approved by the City in an amount not less than the contract price will be required at the signing of the contract. A labor and materials bond in the form and terms approved by the City in an amount not less than one-hundred percent (100%) of the contract price insuring payment for all labor and materials shall also be required at the signing of the contract. In addition, the Contractor must furnish to the City at the time of the signing of the contract a certificate of insurance coverage as provided in the specifications. Liquidated damages for non completion of the work within the time limit agreed upon will be assessed in accordance with the terms of the contract. No bids will be considered unless the bidder, whether resident or non resident of Alabama, is properly qualified to submit a proposal for this construction in accordance with all applicable laws of the State of Alabama. This shall include evidence of holding a current license from the State Licensing Board for General Contractors, Montgomery, Alabama, as required by Chapter 8 of Title 34, of the Code of Alabama, 1975. In addition, non residents of the State, if a corporation, shall show evidence of having qualified with the Secretary of State to do business in the State of Alabama. The bidder must provide their name, address, and other information required by the Project Engineer in order to obtain a numbered set of Contract Documents, which will be assigned to that bidder. The Contract Documents are for that bidders exclusive use and a bid submitted by any other bidder using a numbered set which has not been assigned to them is automatically disqualified. This provision will not be waived. It is the bidders responsibility to verify with the Project Engineer no later than 72 hours prior to the bid time and date that they have received all addenda and other supplemental information issued by the Engineer during the bid period for use in preparing the bid. The right is reserved to reject any and/or all bids and to waive informalities in the bidding and to furnish any item of material or work to change the amount of said Contract. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) days subsequent to the opening of bids without the consent of the City of Citronelle.
