Renovation of an educational facility in Clinton, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.

As of December 7, 2022, not enough bids were received to make an award. This project could go back out for rebid but a schedule has not been announced. Sealed proposals will be received until 2:00 P.M. on Friday, October 21, 2022. The Prime Contractor is required to solicit bids from the following local providers as subs, for ceiling, drywall, metal stud etc type work: - HN Carr, Inc - Ed Townsend Construction SCOPE OF WORK The General Scope of the project is to accomplish the following: 1. Project primarily involves the addition dedicated outside air units to service existing classroom. 2. Provide extended curbs to permit duct and unit fitment on roof. 3. Provide electrical upgrades to support new equipment. 4. The contractor shall provide all temporary construction barriers and maintain egress paths. 5. Provide all associated electrical work to accommodate the upgrades to the mechanical systems. 6. Provide all associated work to integrate existing HVAC equipment with the new BAS. 7. All permit costs are to be paid by Contractor and included in the Bid. 8. Shop Drawing submittals for the following systems shall be included with Bid. - Dedicated Outdoor Air System 1 - Dedicated Outdoor Air System 2 - Dedicated Outdoor Air System 3 Clinton City Schools reserves the unqualified right to reject any and all proposals. Davis Bacon Act - as amended (40 U.S.C. 3141-3148) and as supplemented by Department of Labor regulations (29 C.F.R. Part 5, "Labor Standards and Provisions Applicable to Contracts Covering Federally Financed and Assisted Construction"). Contractors are required to pay wages to laborers and mechanics at a rate not less than the prevailing wages specified in a wage determination made by the Secretary of Labor. In addition, contractors must pay wages not less than once a week. Bid Bond: 5% Performance Bond: 100% Payment Bond: 100% It is the Owner's intent to make a recommendation regarding award of this Contract by October 10, 2022 Notice of Intent to Award will be prepared and conveyed to the Contractor immediately. By October 24, 2022 prepared Contracts will be conveyed to the Contractor along with Notice to Proceed. The Notice to Proceed will set June 9, 2023 as the Construction Starting Date. The Contractor shall commence the performance of this Contract on this date and shall diligently continue its performance to and until final completion of the Project. Owner reserves the right to commence work before this date pending availability of materials and access to school facilities. For example, ductwork could be installed during spring break of 2023. The Contractor shall develop a Project Construction Schedule, which shall be submitted to and approved by the Owner. Substantial Completion shall be achieved by August 10, 2024. Final Completion shall be no later than December 30, 2024.
