Booster Pump Refurbishment The City of Pomona's Water Resources Department is seeking bids for the refurbishment of one (1) horizontal split case booster pump for our #3 Booster site. This pump runs continuously, pumping treated water into our potable water system. The Department is looking for a complete turnkey refurbishment of this pump per the details in the scope of work included in this document. The City of Pomona Water Resources Department is requesting that bidders include pricing for a new pump as well as a refurbished one. Disassembly
Disassemble, inspect, clean, and blast; written report findings to authorized City staff.
Case
Clean all fit areas, sand blast and coat with 3M Scotchkote, prepare for assembly.
Bearing housings
Clean, bore and bush both bearing housings, prep for assembly.
Impeller wear rings
Replace with new from factory

Replace with 304 Stainless impeller
Rotor assembly
Replace complete rotating element new OEM.
Re-coating of exterior case
After sandblasting coating shall be PP-010-377-651 (IPD Blue) or approved equivalent.
Assembly
Install rotor in casing.
New factory gasket(s).
Check total float.
Install bearing housing and bearings.
Align rotor to case.
Center rotor and set end play.
Check and record running position.
Install all new packing and packing glands.
Install new swing bolts with nuts and washers for packing, in silicon bronze.
Pump test
Test shall be performed to verify GPM & TDH are correct.
Flex coupling
A new Woods type S sure flex coupling shall be provided.
Miscellaneous:
Install an air release on top of the pump, and packing lines with stainless steel tube and fittings.
All plugs and zerk fittings shall be replaced.
