The following descriptions delineate the Work, materials, and how measurements of completed Work will be made and paid for, for each bid item in the Bid Schedule. The Bidder is to read these definitions and price their proposal accordingly. Bid Item 1 - Mobilization This bid item includes the mobilization of personnel, equipment and supplies at the project site in preparation for the Work, as well as the establishment and maintenance for the duration of the Contract of the Contractor's sanitary facilities, protective fencing and barricades not included elsewhere, necessary facilities, and all other costs incurred or labor and operations which must be performed prior to beginning the other items under the Contract. This item shall include any costs for required bonding of this project. This item shall also include marshalling, disassembly and security of all items indicated on the Construction Drawings or Specifications or installed as part of mobilization and demobilization from the site. Payment will be made in two installments: the first 60% will be paid on the first month's pay estimate, and the remaining 40% after the final cleanup has been completed and approved. Bid Item 2 - Furnish and Install New Well 14" O.D. Surfacing Casing This bid item includes all labor, materials, submittals, equipment and incidental costs for installation of 14-inch steel surfacing casing for the new well as shown on the plans and specifications. This includes drilling a 16-inch minimum diameter hole to 20 feet in depth to allow the surface casing to be set. In addition to the steel surface casing pipe, this pay item also includes grouting the casing with neat cement per the state's surface seal regulations for a Type III well. Payment will be made at the contract price in Linear Feet of surface casing installed. Bid Item 3 - Drill and Drive 12" I.D. Well Casing This bid item includes all labor, materials, submittals, equipment and incidental costs for installation of 12-inch steel well casing for the new well as shown on the plans and specifications. This includes drilling approximately a 14-inch diameter hole to an estimated 92 feet in depth to allow the well casing to be set. This also includes collection of unwashed drill cuttings samples at the specified intervals and disinfecting the well casing and with a 100 ppm chlorine solution as it is installed. Payment will be made at the contract price in Linear Feet of well casing installed. Bid Item 4 - Furnish and Install 10" I.D. Stainless Steel Well Screen This bid item includes all labor, materials, submittals, equipment and incidental costs for installation of 10-inch stainless steel well screen for the new well as shown on the plans and specifications. This includes a planned screen slot size of 100 slot (0.100-inch) with a total of 40 linear feet of screen. The final screen slot size and length, however, may be changed depending on the results of the test hole drilling (if completed) and discussions with the Contractor and CPW. Payment will be made at the contract price in Linear Feet of well screen installed. ` 9 Bid Item 5 - Furnish and Install Well Completion String This bid item includes all labor, materials, submittals, equipment and incidental costs for installation of the new well completion string which includes four feet of 10-inch sump pipe, the well screen in Bid Item #4, and seven feet of 10-inch standpipe, all placed inside the 12- inch well casing. Also included is developing a placing a natural filter pack outside the 10-inch well string. Payment will be made for the completed well string at the lump sum bid price. Bid Item 6 - Furnish and Place Formation Stabilizer This bid item includes all labor, materials, submittals, equipment and incidental costs for placing formation stabilizer as required by CPW and/or their designated field representative. Payment will be made at the contract price in Cubic Yards of stabilizer placed. Bid Item 7 - Furnish and Place Well Cement Seal This bid item includes all labor, materials, submittals, equipment and incidental costs for installation of the new well cement seal in the annulus between the 14-inch surface casing and the 12 inch production casing by placing cement grout from 20 feet to 10 feet below ground surface. Also included is placing pea gravel or native material from 10 feet to ground level. Payment will be made for the completed well seal at the lump sum bid price. Bid Item 8 - Perform Well Development - Surging and Bailing This bid item includes all labor, materials, submittals, equipment and incidental costs for developing the new well for a period of time until the water is essentially clear and sedimentfree. This bid item includes surging the well using a surge block and bailing the well. Payment will be made at the contract price in Hours spent performing well development with this method. Bid Item 9 - Perform Well Development - Pumping and Rawhiding This bid item includes all labor, materials, submittals, equipment and incidental costs for developing the new well for a period of time until the water is essentially clear and sedimentfree, using the method of pumping and rawhiding the well. Payment will be made at the contract price in Hours spent performing well development with this method. Bid Item 10 - Perform New Well Step Pump Testing This bid item includes all labor, materials, submittals, equipment and incidental costs for conducting pump testing of the new well at increasing pumping rates as specified by CPW's specified field representative. Also included is recording the water level in the well and discharge rates, and handling the discharged pumping water as specified by CPW and State Discharge Permits. Payment will be made at the contract price in Hours spent performing step pump testing. Bid Item 11 - Perform New Well Constant Rate Pump Testing This bid item includes all labor, materials, submittals, equipment and incidental costs for conducting pump testing of the new well continuously at a constant pumping rate for up to 72 hours. Also included is recording the water level in the well and discharge rates, and handling the discharged pumping water as specified by CPW and State Discharge Permits. Payment will be made at the contract price in Hours spent performing constant rate pump testing. Bid Item 12 - Furnish and Provide New Well Video This bid item includes all labor, materials, submittals, equipment and incidental costs for providing a video of the new well after removal of the test pump. Payment will be made for the completed well video at the lump sum bid price. ` 10 Bid Item 13 - Chlorinate New Well This bid item includes all labor, materials, equipment and incidental costs for disinfecting the well with calcium hypochlorite per state well construction requirements. Payment will be made for the chlorination at the lump sum bid price. Bid Item 14 - Furnish and Install 10" I.D. Steel Well Liner Casing in Existing Well This bid item includes all labor, materials, submittals, equipment and incidental costs for installation of a 10-inch steel well liner in the existing Eggleston Well as shown on the plans and specifications. This includes 50 feet of steel casing and installing flexible centralizers on the casing just above the top of the well screen. Payment will be made at the contract price in Linear Feet of well liner casing installed. Bid Item 15 - Furnish and Install 10" I.D. Steel Well Liner Screen in Existing Well This bid item includes all labor, materials, submittals, equipment and incidental costs for installation of 10-inch stainless steel well screen for the existing well as shown on the plans and specifications. This includes a planned screen slot size of 60 slot (0.060-inch) with a total of 40 linear feet of screen. The final screen slot size and length, however, may be changed depending on the results of the test hole drilling (if completed) and discussions with the Contractor and CPW. Payment will be made at the contract price in Linear Feet of well liner screen installed. Bid Item 16 - Furnish and Install 10" I.D. Steel Well Liner Sump in Existing Well This bid item includes all labor, materials, submittals, equipment and incidental costs for installation of a four-foot long 10-inch steel sump with welded steel base plate on the well liner as shown on the plans and specifications. Payment will be made for the completed well liner sump at the lump sum bid price. Bid Item 17 - Furnish and Install Furnish and Install Well Liner Securing Plate This bid item includes all labor, materials, submittals, equipment and incidental costs for installation of the well liner securing plate as shown on the plans and specifications. Payment will be made for the completed well liner securing pit at the lump sum bid price. Bid Item 18 - Perform Well Liner Step Pump Testing This bid item includes all labor, materials, submittals, equipment and incidental costs for conducting pump testing of the newly lined existing well at increasing pumping rates as specified by CPW's specified field representative. Also included is recording the water level in the well and discharge rates, and handling the discharged pumping water as specified by CPW and State Discharge Permits. Payment will be made at the contract price in Hours spent performing step pump testing. Bid Item 19 - Chlorinate Well Liner This bid item includes all labor, materials, equipment and incidental costs for disinfecting the newly lined well with calcium hypochlorite per state well construction requirements. This item also includes capping the hole using a welded 1/4 -inch thick steel cap after completion of the well disinfection. Payment will be made for the chlorination of the well liner at the lump sum bid price. Optional Bid Item 20, Add Item #1 - Mobilization for Test Hole This bid item includes the mobilization of personnel, equipment and supplies at the project site in preparation for drilling the optional test hole. Payment will be made at the lump sum bid price after the demobilization of test hole equipment and final cleanup and has been completed and approved. ` 11 Optional Bid Item 21, Add Item #1 - Perform Drilling of 6" Diameter Borehole This bid item includes all labor, materials, submittals, equipment and incidental costs for drilling a 6-inch minimum diameter, 120-feet deep test borehole adjacent to the existing Eggleston Well. The purpose of this task is to collect geologic samples to size the well screen slots and potentially allow for other minor design changes to the well. Also inlcuded is collection of unwashed drill cuttings samples at the specified intervals. The Contractor shall indicate the proposed drilling method on the Bid Schedule. Payment will be made at the contract price in Linear Feet of the test hole drilled. Optional Bid Item 22, Add Item #1 - Abandon Borehole This bid item includes all labor, materials, equipment and incidental costs for abandoning the borehole in accordance with state well construction requirements. Payment will be made at the contract price in Linear Feet of abandonment. This concludes the bid items listed in the proposal. The only payments made under this contract are for the bid items listed herein, and no additional payments will be made to the Contractor for work specified or shown in these Contract Documents. If any discrepancies exist, the Contractor shall notify the Project Manager in writing, requesting clarification. Contractor Questions: All questions related to the project shall be submitted via e-mail to the Design Engineer, Joe DeCrescentis at joe.decrescentis@state.co.us.
