As of December 11, 2023, the project has been awarded, however, a timeline for construction has not been confirmed. Project Consists of Rehabilitation of the Existing Mars Hill Road Bridge Over Allatoona Creek Located Between Chipping Drive and Waldenbrooke Court. Rehabilitation Includes Resealing Bridge Joints, Patching of Existing Concrete, Repairing Concrete Cracks, Approach Slab Replacement, Installation of Latex Modified Concrete Overlay, Asphalt Milling and Resurfacing, and Other Incidental Items. Payment Will Be Made Monthly Based on Approved Invoices. An Overall Completion Date of July 15, 2023 Has Been Established for This Project. Cobb County Water System Work is Involved on This Project. Only Contractors or Sub-contractors Who Have Been Prequalified With Cobb County Water System Are Allowed to Perform Water and Sewer Relocation Work Associated With This Project. Bidders or Their Water/sewer Subcontractor Are Required to Have a State of Georgia Utility Contractor License. All Work Performed for This Project Will Be in Accordance With the Georgia Department of Transportation Standards and Details; Gdot Standard Specifications Construction of Transportation Systems, 2021 Edition, and Applicable Supplemental Specifications and Special Provisions Identified in the Bid Documents. Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (Dbe) Participation and Small Business Participation (Sbp) in All Dot Contracts is Encouraged. Bidders Are Subject to the Requirements of Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 26, Participation by Disadvantaged Business Enterprises in Department of Transportation Financial Assistance Programs. Contractors Must Submit a Dbe Participation Schedule to the County Prior to Beginning Work on a Project and a Final Dbe Report Must Be Submitted at the End of a Project. Monthly Dbe Reports Must Be Submitted With Each Monthly Invoice. Any Subsequent Changes and/or Substitutions of Dbe Firms From the Original Dbe Participation Schedule Must Be Submitted and Approved by the County in Advance. Dbe Firms Must Be Certified With the Georgia Department of Transportation's Equal Employment Opportunity (Eeo) Office. Bidders Must Certify That They Do Not and Will Not Maintain or Provide for Their Employees Any Facilities Which Are Segregated on a Basis of Race, Color, Creed or National Origin. Bid Bond Shall Be Drawn in Favor of the Board of Commissioners, Cobb County, Georgia, in the Amount of Five Percent (5%) of the Bid for the Complete Work. Construction will require the closure of Mars Hill Road as shown on the plans for a 21-consecutive day period. Closure period may only occur between June 1, 2023 and June 30, 2023.
