Renovation of an educational facility in Dalton, Georgia. Design plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
As of , 2022, final architect selection is complete, and an architect has been selected. *The previous solicitation is listed below for reference. Design Professional Services for Lorberbaum Hall Interior Renovation", Dalton State College, Dalton, Georgia. The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia ("BOR") as ("Owner"), on behalf of Dalton State College (DSC ("User") is soliciting statements of qualifications from firms interested in providing design professional services for the construction of a project known as Project No. J-397, "Lorberbaum Hall Interior Renovation" at Dalton State College, Dalton, Georgia. This Request for Qualifications (RFQ) seeks to identify potential providers of the above-mentioned services. Some firms that respond to this RFQ, who are determined by the Owner to be especially qualified, may be deemed eligible and may be invited to interview and offer proposals for these services. All respondents to this RFQ are subject to instructions communicated in this document and are cautioned to completely review the entire RFQ and follow instructions carefully. BOR reserves the right to reject any or all statements of qualifications or proposals, and to waive technicalities and informalities at their discretion. Lorberbaum Hall, approximately 41,000 gross square feet (GSF) is 25 years old. It is an Academic Instructional and office building that primarily supports the School of Liberal Arts. The building has significant deficiencies in design, function, and performance. The existing size and configuration of the classrooms do not effectively support contemporary instructional modes and practices, and there is essentially no open program space. The proposed project would provide a comprehensive interior renovation (lighting, instructional technology, finishes, fixtures, furniture, and rest rooms) along with targeted space reconfiguration. The renovated interior spaces will provide an environment that will support student, faculty, and instructional activities more appropriately and effectively. Selective reconfiguration will allow greater flexibility for larger course sizes and active learning modes, as well as create modest open common area for student study and engagement. New instructional technology will improve the classroom experience and support improved faculty and student performance. The preliminary Stated Cost Limitation (SCL) or construction cost of the Project is estimated at $3,000,000. The final SCL may be revised by the Owner due to final programmatic requirements, funding availability or other circumstances. The Design Professional Base Fee will be approximately $240,000, which includes Basic Design and Construction Administration services. Anticipated Design Professional service requirements include the services as listed in Item 3 below "Scope of Services". The Design Professional firm is required to submit a fee proposal that also includes anticipated fees for any specialty consultants needed and all reimbursable expenses such as printing and travel in the Step II - Request for Proposals (RFP) phase. Deadline for written questions/requests for clarification (see Section 6). 09/30/22 2:00pm Questions about any aspect of the RFQ, or the project, shall be submitted in writing (email is preferable) to: Mr. Scott Bailey Project Director Dalton State College 650 College Drive Dalton, Georgia 30720 email: sbailey@daltonstate.edu The Owner reserves the right to disqualify a proposer from the selection process due to a failure by a proposer to arrive for the site visit by the scheduled time. Failure to attend a mandatory site visit will automatically result in disqualification from the selection process. Deadline for finalist submission of written questions and requests for clarification 10/28/22 2:00 PM The Method of Contractor Selection has not been determined at this Time.
