Renovation of a library in Maywood, New Jersey. Completed plans call for the renovation of a library.

A timeline for award has not yet been established.** Bids shall be sent to the attention of Ms. Caitlin Hull, Director, Maywood Public Library by mail, messenger, courier. Overnight service or by hand at the Maywood Public Library, 459 Maywood Avenue, Maywood, N.J. 07607 Additional Doc Acq Note- The portable document format (PDF) files are furnished without guarantee of compatibility with the Contractor's software or hardware, and BHC's sole responsibility for the electronic media is to furnish a replacement of defective files. All of the following information is required prior to any credentials being furnished to the potential bidder: Company name that the bid will be submitted under, company address, company phone and fax number, contact person and company electronic-mail (E-mail) address. Upon receiving the above complete information, download credentials will be transmitted to the bidders supplied E-mail address and received by each bidder within 24 (twenty-four) hours starting as of the commencement date stated above. Only those bidders that have registered with the architect shall be eligible to furnish a bid. Those bidders submitting a bid but not registering with the architect are not eligible and will have their bids returned to them unopened. Bid Security in the form of a Certified Check or Cashier's Check, payable to the order of the Maywood Public Library, or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety, in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the total amount of the Bid, not to exceed twenty-thousand dollars ($20,000), shall be submitted with each Bid. The surety issuing the Bid Bond shall be licensed to conduct business in the State of New Jersey as an admitted carrier with a minimum AM Bests Rating of "A-". Each bid must also be accompanied by a Consent of Surety from a surety company acceptable to the Owner, which Consent shall assure the Owner that the Bidder, if awarded the contract, will be able to secure from the surety the required bonds in the required amounts. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory Payment and Performance Bonds covering 100% of the work. The Surety providing performance and payment bonds shall be licensed to conduct business in the State of New Jersey. If the successful Bidder fails to execute and deliver the Agreement and furnish the required contract security within ten (10) calendar days of the Notice of Award, the Library may vacate the Notice of Award and the bid security of that Bidder will be forfeited to the Library as liquidated damages for such failure. Maywood Public Library INVITATION TO BID Project No. 09989 00 01 16 - 1 BEATTY HARVEY COCO , ARCHITECTS Each contract will be awarded to the lowest responsible bidder or the proposals will be rejected within sixty (60) days of the date of opening proposals subject, however, to the right reserved by the Board of Trustees for the Maywood Public Library, to waive any informalities in, reject any or all proposals, accept any bid in whole or in part, or to advertise for new proposals, if, in the opinion of this Board of Trustees, the best interests of the Maywood Public Library will thereby be promoted. This invitation is an offer to receive proposals for a contract and not an offer of a contract. Bidders must be authorized to do business in New Jersey. Any Bidder which is a corporation not chartered under the laws of the State of New Jersey, must submit an affidavit certifying that said corporation is authorized to do business in the State of New Jersey. Bidders must be registered with the Department of Labor and are required to comply with the requirements of Public Law 1999, c.238, "The Public Works Contractor Registration Act", which became effective on April 11, 2000. Bidders, their subcontractors and suppliers, must comply with the New Jersey Business Registration requirements. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of Public Law 1975, c. 127 which pertains to "Non- Discrimination" and "Affirmative Actions", and Public Law 1977, c. 33, which requires a Statement of Corporate Ownership. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27. Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of P.L. 1975 (N.J.A.C. 17:27-1 et seq.), P.L. 1977, Chapters 33 (N.J.S.A. 52:25-24.2, Statement of Corporate Ownership), P.L. 1971, c. 198 (N.J.S.A. 40A:11-16, A Listing of Subcontractors), N.J.S.A. 40A:11-18 (American Goods & Products), N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.25 et seq. (New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act), N.J.S.A. 34:11-56.49 (New Jersey Contractor Registration Act), P.L. 1962, Chapter 45, (N.J.S.A. 34:5-166 to 34:5-181, Construction Safety Act), N.J.S.A. 10:5-1 et seq., N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27 (New Jersey Law Against Discrimination), and Chapter 57, P.L. 2004 (Business Registration Certificate). Contractor is required to ensure that on all public works projects of at least $250,000 all laborers, workers and mechanics working on the site be certified as having successfully completed the OSHA 10 hour construction safety and health course. The Maywood Public Library reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive irregularities and informalities in bidding, in accordance with applicable law.
