PURPOSE a. The purpose and intent of this Invitation for Bids (IFB) is to solicit sealed bids to establish a contract with one (1) qualified contractor for the HVAC (boilers) Maintenance and Service for the Virginia School for the Deaf and the Blind, agency of the Commonwealth of Virginia. For the purpose of the IFB, the Virginia School for the Deaf and the Blind will be referred to as VDSB. II. BACKGROUND a. The Virginia school for the Deaf and the Blind, established in 1839 by the General Assembly, provides comprehensive educational services to deaf, hard of hearing, blind or visually impaired children who require specialized instruction not available in local schools. VSDB serves children from birth to age 22 who have been referred by local schools. The campus included classroom facilities, residential halls, a student recreation center, gymnasium, athletic fields, auditorium, administrative offices and infirmary. There are currently 14 fuel fired boilers on campus, located in six (6) buildings.
