Renovation of a mixed-use development in Asheville, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the renovation of a clubhouse / community center.
The historic Stephens-Lee Recreation Center located at 30 George Washington Carver Avenue in Asheville, NC is the recipient of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding for facility improvements that will benefit the local community. The Stephens-Lee Recreation Center Capital Improvement project will provide roof and exterior envelope improvements to extend the useful life of the building; select interior renovations to the mens and womens locker and shower rooms to bring them back into useful operation; repairs to water-damage on interior finishes; and select soundproofing strategies to reduce upper floor gymnasium spill over into the lower multi-purpose, studio, and museum spaces. Deadline to Submit Questions Friday, February 3, 2023 by 3:00 pm Anticipated Notice to Proceed: Wednesday, March 22, 2023 Anticipated Substantial Completion: Wednesday, June 21, 2023 The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond and a payment bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract amount. Those bonds shall meet the requirements of North Carolina General Statutes Section 143-129 and of Article 3 of Chapter 44A of the North Carolina General Statutes.
