Cary is hereby requesting proposals for the construction of two (2) pedestrian refuge islands in the western section of Cary PROJECT LOCATION: Green Hope School Road at Sears Farm Road, Louis Stephens Road at Muir Brook Place, Green Hope School Road at Highcroft Drive PROJECT DESCRIPTION: Construct two (2) pedestrian refuge islands as shown on the construction drawings, inclusive of ADA curb ramp replacements, flashing beacons installation to include connected vehicle technology and associated pavement striping and signage. Install a hi-visibility crosswalk at the intersection of Highcroft Drive at Green Hope School Rd. Selective removal & replacement of existing centerline striping will be required as shown on the drawings. All improvements shall be constructed in accordance with Cary Standard Specifications and Details. The successful bidder will be required to: - Prepare and implement a traffic control plan - Perform surface preparation, including milling of existing pavement - Construct pavement undulations and ADA ramps in accordance with the Cary Standard Details - Install post-mounted traffic signage and pavement markings in accordance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) Cary reserves the right to reject any or all proposals. PROJECT SCHEDULE: This project is estimated to last no more than 180 working days and is expected to be completed in 2023. Bidders shall provide a proposed schedule for completion with the bid. This project will be executed in accordance with the Town of Cary Standard Terms and Conditions and using the Cary small construction agreement, which is attached for reference.
