Renovation of a water / sewer project in Vancouver, Washington. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.

This contract provides for the installation of a sodium hypochlorite generation system at the Ellsworth Water Treatment Plant. The contract work shall be fully complete by April 15, 2023. The City of Vancouver in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 252,42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4) and the Regulations, hereby notifies all bidders that will affirmatively ensure that any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full and fair opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award. The City of Vancouver is committed to providing equal opportunities to State of Washington certified Minority, Disadvantaged and Womens Business Enterprises in contracting activities. (Section 4 of Chapter 56, Laws of 1975, 1st Ex. Sess., State of Washington). The completed work provides a new on-site sodium hypochlorite generation (OSHG) system with functioning equipment to disinfect up to 8 MGD. The equipment will be installed at an existing municipal drinking water production facility. The equipment includes items necessary to provide & inject a low-strength, 0.8%, sodium hypochlorite solution. A partial components list of items to be installed includes an exterior brine storage tank, an interior sodium hypochlorite storage tank, an interior sodium hydroxide storage tank, dual sodium hypochlorite metering pumps and two on-site sodium hypochlorite generation (SHG) systems. The existing disinfectant system including the emergency air scrubber will be rearranged to ensure its availability. The water treatment plant will be inactive during the project except in an emergency situation where the City water system needs to have it active before May 2023.
