Spartanburg Water System is seeking to purchase, replace, and install two (2) aluminum commercial grade slide gates with track for vehicle entry and exit, and 4"steel posts that will be set into a concrete footer. The Owner is expecting the selected contractor to utilize professional judgement and experience for site and gate location preparation for removal, disposal, and installation of approved gates, components, posts, operators, other material and items as appropriate. Bids received after the due date and time will not be considered. The bid opening can be viewed electronically The slide gates are required to operate daily when necessary. This project will take place at the Whitlock Drinking Water Treatment Plant at 180 Joel O'Bryant Drive Spartanburg SC 29307 All equipment shall arrive with factory-applied coating, and handling of fence and components shall be such that components finish coating is not damaged during installation. If touch-up areas are necessary, a primer shall be applied and a high quality paint that match finish. In addition to price, the following criteria will be used in assessing bids: 1) whether the vendor can provide the equipment/supplies promptly, within the time specified without delay or interference; 2) the reputation, experience, and efficiency of the vendor; 3) the quality, availability and conformance of the equipment and/or services to the specific use required; 4) the ability of the vendor to provide further maintenance and service. Specifications should meet the Owner's minimum requirements. Any bid submissions that do not meet these minimum requirements may not be accepted. Bid submissions of products that are equivalent or exceed the Owner's minimum specifications shall be reviewed and accepted on a case by case basis. The period of performance shall be within 90 days from issuance of purchase order. Payments: The invoice shall be submitted once equipment is received and approved by the Owner. If presented by Contractor, early payment discounts in return for a shortened payment period will be considered (2% under 15 days, 5% under 10 days, etc.). The Commission reserves the right to accept or reject any bids or proposals that appear to be in the best interest of the Commission and further reserve the right to waive irregularities in the bids and to reject any and all bids received. In the case of tie bids, the right is reserved to make award as considered most advantageous to the Owner.
