Renovation of a medical facility in Bethesda, Maryland. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 3,850-square-foot, one-story above grade medical facility.

*As of August 23, 2023, the bids are pending at the owner. The drawings and specifications, herein referred to as construction documents, are listed in paragraph 6.1. The new, approx. 3,727 NSF Radiopharmacy will be constructed within the expanded footprint of the existing location in the west wing of the first floor of the Building 10 ACRF. The layout will allow for increased flexibility and efficiency through improved personnel, material, and product flow and will increase Radiopharmacy capacity to produce USP <797>, <800> and <823> compliant products in-house to keep pace with current and anticipated CC demands. In all, the Radiopharmacy will consist of the following spaces and classifications: Non-classified (NC) spaces - Changing/Locker room, Materials Storage, Janitor's closet, Mech. room Controlled Not-Classified Spaces (CNC) - RAM room for receipt of supplies, QC and support functions ISO 8 classified space - Gowning anteroom for gown in and exit to and from the cleanroom suite and a prep room for QA & QC functions. ISO 7 classified space - Kit prep anteroom and cell labeling/biologics anteroom - 2nd layer of gowning from ISO 8 to ISO 7 and gowning out (From ISO 7 to ISO 8), ISO 7 classified space - Kit prep cleanroom & Cell labeling/biologics cleanroom. ISO 5 PEC - Class II B2 BSC for aseptic processing Importantly, the facility will include high air change rates, tight temperature and humidity ranges, differential air pressures, and architectural surfaces that are resistant to harsh chemical cleaning agents. In that the existing mechanical system cannot meet the stringent needs of the program, a new ~3,850GSF two-story penthouse will be constructed on the roof of the second floor of the ACRF, adjacent to the North penthouse (3ME5) to support the new facility, as well as the needs of the new Sterility Lab for the Department of Laboratory Medicine (DLM) being constructed under a separate project. The penthouse will accommodate the following: Dedicated Radiopharmacy supply air system consisting of redundant, 6300 cfm, 100% outside air custom air handling units General exhaust air system for the Radiopharmacy consisting of 4000 cfm redundant fans with stacks Bio-safety cabinet exhaust air system for the Radiopharmacy consisting of 3500 cfm redundant fans with stacks Preheat glycol heat exchangers and pumps (redundant) for the Radiopharmacy Supplemental chiller sized to maintain clean room environmental requirements during off-design (97 deg F DB/84 deg F WB) outdoor temperatures for the Radiopharmacy Two dedicated Air Handling Units, 6300 cfm each, and all associated support equipment (i.e. exhaust fans, electrical, etc.) to support the DLM Sterility Lab. *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
