Work section B, can be accessed from state route 66 trail crossing and Duhring Rd. Works sites section 1-7 from state route 66 trail crossing and Duhring Rd Forest Rd 226 Goat farm Rd. Normal Tread Maintenance: Maintain trail tread, including pulling in material from undesirable berms and reincorporating into tread, correcting damage that corrupts drainage pattern. The work will include reshaping the rail to the original in sloped /out sloped condition and controlling surface drainage to prevent further degradation of the trail and compact all disturbed areas. All dips will be reconstructed. Maintain all existing ditches, dips and leadoff ditches as part of the trail tread maintenance. Normal maintenance will include reconditioning of trails with not more than 6" deep ruts or holes in the tread surface. The depth will be measured using a 60" straight edge across the drivable surface and measuring the depth of ruts/holes from the bottom of the straight edge to the deepest depth of the ruts or holes. If more than 20% of the ruts in a section are over 6" deep, the section will be evaluated under heavy tread maintenance. Heavy Tread Maintenance: This item will be used for heavily damaged trail tread that would require more than normal maintenance to return to original shape. Heavy maintenance will include areas that are deeply rutted, have large waterholes and drainage has been significantly changed and where more than normal amount of work is needed to repair. In all cases the trail is still defined but has significant reshaping to be performed. Heavy tread maintenance will include the following: Remove and reshape berms as needed, pulling in material from undesirable berms and reincorporating into tread and compacting, correcting damage that corrupts drainage pattern, reshaping the trail to the original in sloped/out sloped condition and controlling surface drainage to prevent further degradation of the trail. All dips will be reconstructed as directed by the COR. Maintain all existing ditches, dips, and leadoff ditches as part of the heavy trail tread maintenance. Use Heavy Tread maintenance if the ruts/holes are more than 6" and less than 18" deep as measured with a 60" straight-edge, and less than 30 CY of material needs to be moved over a 150' length of trail
