Renovation of an educational facility in Durham, New Hampshire. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
USNH, representing University of New Hampshire (UNH) Facilities Project Management, is seeking qualified professional firms to provide design/build services specific to renovate Hetzel Hall. Project Overview Project will include a full gut renovation to a +/-40,000 square foot historic dormitory on Main Street Durham NH. Project delivery will be design build to accommodate the aggressive schedule. Interested firms should provide qualifications package for the Design Build team for shortlist consideration and the chance to present proposals in the second phase of the RFQ/P. Note 2018 codes will be adopted for this project, The University is focused on a highly energy efficient building, while also maintaining the historical values of the building which is a main public facing building with its prominent location on Main Street. As part of the renovation of Hetzel Hall the associated site work around the building will include the restoration of the rear concrete patio, stairs and balustrade as well as the redesign and restoration of the sidewalks, stairs and patios between Hetzel and Fairchild Halls, and between Fairchild and Huddleston Halls. New Elevator install will also be included, and will play an important role in the DB teams layout work. Scope of Services Sought The Owner is seeking full design/build services for this project to design and build the proposed project in accordance with the requirements set forth in this solicitation, its attachments and referenced documents, applicable codes, laws and regulations, and meeting with the owner's full satisfaction and approval. At a minimum, professional disciplines shall include architecture and code review as well as structural, plumbing, fire protection, mechanical electrical, civil, engineering, as well as Landscape architecture, as necessary. The owner intends to engage these services via the USNH standard design/build form of agreement (see Form of Contract) including all basic services as identified therein plus the following o In addition to design meetings with owner personnel, multiple meetings with the N.H. State Fire Marshal's office may be required relative to building and life safety code matters. o Schedule of Values for each phase, with percent completion of contract. o Provide coordination of construction, equipment installation, or other required work provided by the owner's own forces or separate contractors employed by the owner (e.g. furniture, electrical and telecommunications utility work; telecommunications wiring inside building). o Work cooperatively with the third-party commissioning agent hired separately by the Owner. All of the building's systems will be commissioned. o Prepare as-built record drawings, in a owner-approved format, for the owner's archive. o Provide complete warranty and operation and maintenance manuals, electronically (Adobe PDF) and hardcopy (3 sets). o Provide detailed on-site training of owner personnel and third-party service providers to adequately operate and maintain the completed facility Respondent Inquiries Questions and inquiries concerning this solicitation shall be submitted through the UShopNH Event Q&A Board.
