Water System Improvements, Waterline Replacement Project. - This project is generally described as the as the installation of 2,360 linear feet of 6" water line, fire hydrants, water service replacements and all improvements necessary for a complete installation. In addition to the base bid listed above, there will also be alternate bids including an additional 2,760 linear feet of 6" water line, fire hydrants, water service replacements and all improvements necessary for a complete installation. This contract shall include all necessary superintendence, labor, materials, equipment, tools, piping, field jointing, cleaning, grouting, excavation, trenching, shoring, fill, grading, backfill, surface restoration, testing, hauling and disposal of excess soils, and incidental items necessary for the construction of the proposed facilities as shown in the plans and documented in the specifications. The City of China, Texas will accept sealed bids for furnishing necessary materials, equipment, superintendence, and labor for the construction of the City of China, Texas, Water System Improvements, Waterline Replacement Project. This project is generally described as the as the installation of 4,980 linear feet of 6" water line, fire hydrants, water service replacements and all improvements necessary for a complete installation. Hard copies of Bidding Documents will not be sold. Complete sets of Bidding Documents shall be used in preparing Bids; neither Owner nor Engineer assumes any responsibility for errors or misinterpretations resulting from the use of incomplete sets of Bidding Documents. Owner and Engineer, in making copies of Bidding Documents available on the above terms, do so only for the purpose of obtaining Bids for the Work and do not confer a license or grant for any other purpose. Bid Security, only in the form of: 1) a certified or cashier's check drawn on a Texas bank and made payable to the City of China; or 2) a bond executed by a surety company authorized to do business in Texas, in the amount of not less than five (5%) percent of the total bid, must accompany each bid at the time it is submitted. Bids must be submitted on the form shown in the Contract Documents. A Contractor Qualification Statement must also accompany each bid. Bids may be held by the City of China, Texas for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidder's qualifications prior to the contract award. Upon award, the successful bidder will be required to furnish payment and performance bonds. The right is reserved by the City of China, as their interest may require, to accept or reject any or all bids, and to waive any informality in the bids received.
