Scope of Work This specific project will construct a new taxiway through the existing NASWF security fence and will realign a perimeter maintenance road on NASWF to cross the new taxiway. The taxiway will include adjacent ditches to collect storm water runoff from the taxiway and from adjacent drainage areas. The ditches will also include a closed drainage system that will direct storm water to the existing dry detention pond. Significant earthwork excavation will be required to construct the taxiway. Two locations have been identified on the WAP site to stockpile the excess earthwork. Erosion control during construction will be a critical and continuous work item. Security lighting and cameras are also included in the construction. The base bid for taxiway lighting will only include duct bank, conduits, airfield lighting fixture cans, and grounding systems. An alternate lighting bid item will include the remaining taxiway lighting items, airfield lighting fixtures, cabling, regulators (see plans), necessary to make the airfield lighting fully functional. Due to a separate funding source, the large taxiway security gate, concrete foundation, and associated gate items will be bid as an optional item. In addition, there will be an optional bid item to deduct the taxilane, concrete apron and taxilane security gate work. We have also included two optional earthwork bid items, one for the contractor to take full ownership of the excess earthwork and remove all excess earthwork from site. The other earthwork bid option will include hauling 50,000 cy to the existing SRC Landfill with the remaining excavation to the stockpile locations on WAP. The Board of County Commissioners reserves the right to waive irregularities in bids, to reject any or all bids for sound documented reasons, and to award the bid that it determines to be in the best interest of Santa Rosa County.
