Greenhouse Glazing Replacement - King Hall (University of Wisconsin - Madison) All potential bidders must become certified by DOA prior to submitting bids on state construction projects with budgets over $50,000. In general the work consists of: Work on (1) of (3) greenhouses located at King Hall. Removal of existing glass glazing and wood purlins at the greenhouse roof and removal of the continuous gutter between Greenhouse 2 and Greenhouse 3. Removal of glazing at the sidewall and endwall. The work will install new metal purlins and doublewalled polycarbonate glazing on the roof and walls. A new gutter will replace the gutter that is to be removed. There will be flashing at one end of the greenhouse where it is attached to a building. Existing electrical components, including fire alarm devices and steam piping will have to be protected during construction. The State, under a separate abatement contract, will remove glass and glazing and operable vents and windows. The 2017-2019 Wisconsin State Budget (2017 Wisconsin Act 59) repealed Wisconsin's prevailing wage laws. Effective September 23, 2017, state prevailing wage requirements on state building projects no longer apply. These changes take effect for projects advertised for bid after September 23, 2017. This change does not affect the Federal Davis Bacon Act requirements.
