Bids are invited for work as follows: - 1 LS - Sand blast and paint the 500,000 Gallon Ground Storage Tank INTERIOR (South Tank Only) - 1 LS - Remove/Replace Interior Tank Ladder Each such payment will not be refunded. A Bid Bond in the amount of 5% of the bid issued by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with each bid. A certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Whitehouse or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond. The City of Whitehouse reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. Bids may be held by the City of Whitehouse for a period not to exceed 90 days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidder's qualifications prior to the contract award. The City of Whitehouse, hereinafter referred to as the Owner, is requesting bids for sand blasting clean and re-painting the interior of an existing 500,000 gallon ground storage tank within the water system (SH-110N Plant South GST). The exterior of the tank is to remain as is with the exception of minor touch-up work and sandblasting and repainting of the vent and cap and staining, overflow flap, chipping on the ladder rungs, minor chipping on shell, manway hinges, the curbing around the top manway hatch, as well as any touch-up needed along the bottom seal. The tank has a height of approximately 32 feet and an inside diameter of approximately 55 feet. The project shall also include sealing of the base plate as well as replacing the roof vent 16-mesh screen (with fiberglass or stainless steel). Replacing the roof vent and cap with an aluminum vent and cap, confined space entry placards, overflow pipe modifications, as well as an intruder door on the exterior ladder cage are alternates in the job to be performed at the owner's discretion. Additional required items include replacing the internal ladder and providing a safety climb system(s), if required. Replacement of all manway and/or hatch gaskets (as well as nuts/bolts) is to be included as a matter of course. The exterior tank appurtenances previously noted shall be cleaned and touched-up, as specified. This is to include but is not limited to the existing vent and cap (if to remain) as well as the roof manway curbing, overflow flap, chipped ladder rungs, chips in shell, manway hinges, etc. The prime/paint materials must be applied immediately after surface preparation to prevent surface rust from occurring. Areas not primed in a timely manner will require reblasting, if rust starts to form. All colors used shall be owner approved. Tinting may be necessary to assist in application and inspection of subsequent coats. Tinting is permissible provided the tinting material is furnished by the paint manufacturer and mixed in strict accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations.
