Project Description: Remove and replace the existing Dental Clinic Vacuum pump assembly with a new replacement assembly for the Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS), Building 100, BE 130 Basement Mechanical Room, 3801 Miranda Ave; Palo Alto, CA 94304. Scope of Work 1.0 General Intent 1.1 Remove and replace the existing Dental Clinic Vacuum pump assembly with a new replacement assembly for the Veterans Affairs Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS), Building 100, BE 130 Basement Mechanical Room, 3801 Miranda Ave; Palo Alto, CA 94304. 1.2 The contractor must perform to the standards in this contract. 1.3 This project shall take no longer than 180 calendar days from the notice to proceed (NTP) to complete. 1.4 This project shall be supervised by the appointed COR to ensure minimal impact of day-today activities on patient care. Scheduling of work shall be at the convenience of the Veteran Administration Palo Alto Health Care System. 1.5 The Security & Accreditation package is not required, and C & A (certification and accreditation (authorization) ) requirements do not apply as this equipment is not for information nor communication. (ISO, Privacy Office) 2.0 General Information and Requirements 2.1 The objective of this project is to replace the existing Dental Clinic Vacuum beyond its service life minimalizing downtime to an active Dental Clinic. Some weekend/off hours work will be necessary to not adversely affect patient care during Utility Shutdowns. 2.2 This project shall follow Critical Path Method (CPM) and take no longer than 180 calendar days from the notice to proceed to complete. 2.3 The contractor shall provide all tools, equipment, and personal protective equipment necessary to complete this project safely. Contractor shall follow safety regulations, this SOW, all related specifications, applicable code, Underwriters Laboratories (UL), Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) requirements. Contractor shall follow rules including but not limited to Health Care System Memorandums (HCSM), current California/ County of Santa Clara COVID 19 restrictions, Federal OSHA, Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO), signs, VA Police, Standards of behavior of this facility. 2.4 Normal facility work hours will be 8:00am - 4:30 pm Monday-Friday excluding Government holidays. Schedules outside of work hours will be approved by the COR. It is the intent of the Palo Alto VA Medical Center that the work is to be completed with minimal interruptions to the facility and within 180 calendar days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed (NTP). 2.4.1 The facility policy on utility shutdowns of major magnitude requires a minimum of 30 days notice to the tenants.
