The Materials Recovery Facility (MRF) located at the Lethbridge Waste and Recycling Center provides processing of Mixed as well as Source Separated recyclable material for the region. Processed material is baled and shipped to external markets. The baling process utilizes an Accent 470 Wire Tie Machine integrated into the baling operations. At the current and projected inbound material tonnages, the anticipated annual consumption of baler wire is 806,880 linear feet. To ensure there is no disruption to daily operations, the City of Lethbridge is looking secure a supplier for regular shipments of baler wire to the MRF for 5 years plus a possible 5-year extension. The successful supplier will provide shipments approximately every 6 months to avoid any potential corrosion to the wire while in storage in the MRF. First required delivery is to be arranged shortly after award. Baler wire is to meet specifications indicated in the rated criteria section of the document.
