Site work and new construction of a detention facility in Orient, Ohio. Conceptual plans call for the construction of a detention facility; and for site work for a detention facility.
The State intends to select a Construction Manager at Risk (CMR) to assist with design and to provide construction services for an expanded facility at the Pickaway Correctional Institution. The project will include numerous buildings, structures, site work, utility construction and coordination of many disciplines, consultants, contractors and stakeholders. Pickaway Correctional Institution (PCI) was opened as a correctional facility in 1984 in Orient, Ohio just south of Columbus. Dating back to the 1920's, this facility was one of Ohio's mental health hospitals. Many buildings on the campus are former hospital buildings and are in poor condition. This project will replace several of those buildings.
