The purpose of these specifications is to obtain a vendor or vendors to supply Rock Salt for the 2022-2023 Winter Season. Estimated annual purchase: 3,000 tons. This number is given for the purpose of competitive bidding. Actual quantity is contingent upon weather. ***ROAD SALT GUARANTEE-Bidders must supply written certification from their salt supplier that the bidder has access to sufficient amounts of road salt. Bidders are expected to provide up to 100% of the Town's initial estimate. No Bid Bond required. Bids from vendors that have previously failed to satisfactorily complete performance on a contract with the Town, will not be considered. All prices bid shall be delivered prices and include all discounts. Prices shall be firm for the period October 14, 2022 to June 30, 2023. The term of the contract shall be through June 30, 2023. The Town of Wethersfield, after review of all factors, including the terms and conditions, qualifications and price, reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids, or any part thereof, or waive defects in the same, or accept any proposal or combination of proposals deemed to be in the best interest of the Owner. All bid documents must be completely filled out when submitted. Bids must be firm for a period of 90 days following the bid opening date. Bid withdrawal may be made only with the consent of the Town of Wethersfield.
